The participants enjoyed the warm hospitality of the Turkish partners and were deeply impressed by the richness of culture in Konya. Konya was the final home of Rumi, whose tomb is in the city, and whose followers established in 1273 the Mevlevi Sufi order of Islam there and became known as the whirling dervishes. Nowadays Konya impresses as a dynamic city with strong education facilities containing e.g. more 100.000 college students.
