Second meeting of the YOWOMO2.0 Partnership

End of February 2014 the second meeting of the YOWOMO2.0 partnership took place in Brussels. Our Belgium partners from Tomas More and Tonuso invited us to the Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel where we worked on the next steps of the partnership. Two goals where to achieve.

  1. The competence framework with the description of competences and bodies of knowledge, skills and attitudes had to be revised. image (4)Between the meeting in Münster and Brussels the partners added a lot of content to the descriptions. To strengthen the framework a focus group from different partners volunteered for the task of reviewing the work. The review process took more time than expected so the group decided to go on with it after the meeting using different tools for online collaboration. It is expected that the review process will be finished and the competence framework can published in April 2014.
  2. What are good criteria for an assessment of the competences described by YOWOMO2.0? 2014-02-26 15.03.04And how can these competences be shown? Which kind of “products” can serve as evidence of competence? These were the questions that the other members of the partnership started to work on. They created a list of professional products that can be seen as evidence of competence. In addition they discussed ways to assess the products. This will be continued at the meeting in Konya, Turkey, in June.

Before the meeting in Konya in June there will also be a online meeting where the partnership will discuss an online assessment tool which is developed by the Belgium partners from Thomas More.

Aside the work we also  had time to stroll around Brussels and visit some of the famous chocolate shop.  Unfortunately the city tour to visit the most beautiful sites of Brussels had to be stopped because of the heavy rain. Soaking wet but happy we ended up in a traditional Mussels & French Fries Restaurant to enjoy a delicious dinner and one of the famous Belgium beers.
